Thank you for your interest in adopting a Basset Hound puppy from HI Desert Hounds! We are committed to responsible breeding and placing our puppies in loving homes. 

To join our wait list, please review the following process and terms carefully.

1. Wait List Deposit 

• A $250 non-refundable deposit is required after your puppy application is received and approved. 

• Deposits are valid for up to two years from the date received and will be applied toward the final purchase price of your puppy. 

• Accepted payment methods: GoodDog.com, cash, money order, certified bank check, Venmo, or Zelle. 

• Wait list position is determined by the date the deposit is received.

2. Choosing Your Puppy 

• Puppy selection begins at 5–6 weeks of age, in deposit order. 

• If your preferred puppy is not available, you may move to the next litter one time. 

• Once you select a puppy, an additional $250 non-refundable holding deposit is required (applied toward the final balance). 

• The remaining balance is due in cash at the time of pickup.

3. Breeder Rights 

We reserve the right to: 

• Refuse placement of any puppy if we determine the home or situation is not suitable. 

• Return any deposit if circumstances change or we are uncomfortable proceeding with the placement.

4. Health & What's Included 

Each puppy comes with: 

• Veterinary health check 

• 1-year genetic health guarantee (see Puppy Contract for details and limitations) 

• 2-year guarantee (from date of birth) against lethal congenital defects that result in death or require euthanasia. 

• Microchip 

• AKC Limited registration paperwork 

• Vaccination and deworming records 

• Puppy care package (puppy food, toy/blanket with mother's scent)

Important Note on Health: All puppies are raised with care, but we cannot guarantee against all future health issues. The 1-year genetic health guarantee is outlined in the Puppy Contract.

5. Pricing 

• Standard puppies with AKC Limited registration: $3,500 

• Puppies with rare coat traits, laced ears, or higher European lineage may be priced higher.

6. Contract & Communication 

• You will be required to sign our Puppy Contract via e-signature within 72 hours of selecting your puppy. 

• Failure to respond in a timely manner may result in forfeiture of your deposit and the puppy being made available to the next person on the wait list. 

• We provide regular updates with photos and videos on Facebook, Facetime, Instagram, and TikTok.
